A story of four generations of hairdressers.
First Generation
1954 - Old newspaper article
"We heard that John Catapano is opening a new barber shop on Hayden Avenue near Shaw. We are struck by this news.
It was in 1914, forty years ago, that John first came to that neighborhood. At that time there were only three shops, the roads were unpaved, houses were scattered, and the local farms were in operation. It was a pioneering town.
For thirty years that shop was his livelihood and his career. It was more than a barber shop. It was a meeting place, a hub of social life, a community institution. St. James Lutheran Church held its first baptism in the back of that shop..."
Second generation
1955 - Anna Catapano
The second generation continues in San Valentino Torio, in the province of Salerno. Here, John Catapano's granddaughter, Anna, decides to pursue the family trade. With passion and dedication, Anna keeps the tradition alive, adding her personal touch and adapting to the needs of modern times.
Third Generation
1983 - Eugenio Borriello
